I wouldn t say there s a huge difference in the sound you get but it is noticeable.

In other words a tone pot with a 500k ohm pot will give you the same sound rolled half way down as a 250k pot in the same circuit. I guess you might get a slightly mellower tone which sounds like it may be a good move. I honnestly would rather try the stock 250k pots before if they are already there.

We use 250k pots for the single coils because these pickups are often very bright. Thread starter shaky town. In my experience with dual hb guitars with 500k pots you usually need to tame down some of the highs of the bridge pu anyway even with covers on and especially if you set your amp so that the neck pu sounds good and not too muddy and like to use your bridge pu more for your overdriven tones than for cleans. 500k pots for p90 pickup.
