250k Vs 500k Pots Telecaster

That ll open things up but allow you the option of rolling that tone knob back to about 7 and being exactly where you were with the 250k tone on 10. I m fairly sure that a 500k pot would open up the 59 nicely but my issue is how it will affect the jd. This is valid for both the pots and the tone cap.

Hi so i have been playing my tele duncan 59 in the neck and duncan jd in bridge and i have an issue. These k numbers are the resistance ratings kohms. I was trying to figure out the issue and i think it has to do with the 250k tone pot i used. A good compromise is to just throw in a 500k audio tone.

The 500k volume will have a different sweep and you cannot make it exactly like a 250k by turning it down. The jd pup sounds awesome but the 59 in very muddy in the neck. The resistor will cut off an initial amount of highs but the final outcome when rolled down depends on the capacitor too. With the sss strat pickup configuration 250k pots are normally used.

This type of pot will cause the volume to seem to change the most right when it is almost all the way up. Halfway through a 500k pot should have a resistance of around 250k.
